No. app is a *bundle* type, not a file type. Control-click on an application and choose "Show Package Contents" - or explore an application in the terminal - to see what an application bundle looks like.


The minimum required elements are:

- Contents/MacOS/<application name>
- Contents/Info.plist
- Contents/PkgInfo
