And going brushed metal just for the look of it shouldn't be done.
The HIG lays out pretty clear occasions when you should be using
Brushed Metal, and when you shouldn't. Admittedly Apple themselves
don't seem to stick to this too well, but they seem to be in quite an
experimental stage at the moment (i.e. To me they seem to be trying
to change things for 10.5 and are toying with ideas).

but my application suite already uses the original window style, i
think that the metal look would make my app more interesting for the
users, however i don't want to go against some taboo development
