I'm using MDItemCreate to fetch the metadata for a bunch of files, and
my calls to it are uniformly taking about 30 seconds to execute (as
measured by logging as well as stepping over in the debugger) and, by
the way, return nil as the result.
I'm digging into the performance tools for the first time (excluding
idle experimentation), but does anyone have an idea what might be
happening here?
