Getting one of those modal sheets that "emerges from a slit"

I can't for the life of me remember and/or find information on how to make one of those sheets that magically pops out of a once-invisible slit in a window's title-bar. Do I look in NSAlert? NSPanel? Is it one of the -beginSheet: methods on NSAlert? Is it one of the - runModal methods on NSApplication? I rummaged through the docs and couldn't find anything specifically about the "magic slit"-type sheet. Yet I know I've done this before...

Sorry for the memory lapse, but I'd appreciate somebody pointing me in the right direction.
