See if the fonts show up in the "All Fonts" list of /Applications/ Font Book. If they do, then you should be able to get info on the font (cmd-I) and read the file it came from off of the "location" field.



I had my friend do this - they don't show up, they're not there.

Yes that's basically what I did to find out the names of the offenders.

The bottom line is that for whatever reason NSFontManager is providing an incorrect list of the fonts currently available on the system. However it comes about it's rather tacky behavior.
