Agreed - my bad.
As for initWithData, I get the same results if I use
NSUnicodeStringEncoding, and only the first character of the string
if I use
any of the NSWindows* encodings. (Presumably they see the 0 byte in
unicode
as a terminator).
Why would you try other encodings, don't you know which encoding is
being used?
It seems that you're missing the byte order mark (BOM)?
