IB problem reading header file

I'm working with a subclass of a class in a proprietary framework. When IB reads the header file for the subclass, it complains "Interface Builder cannot find the superclass of one of the classes found in this header filer.". Having IB go to the framework and read the header file for the superclass first solves the problem, but this has to be repeated for every nib. I've tried having the header file of the subclass directly import the superclass header, but that hasn't affected anything. Any suggestions for a workaround?
