Most likely true.
But I don't have enough information about what he's doing to say that
conclusively, so I answered his question as posed. It's altogether
possible that he was providing a simplified scenario in his question
in order to understand how the mechanism works without being
distracted by the complexity of his actual code. I've done that at
times when posting to this list.
You also can't expect someone to understand when or why to use a
certain mechanism if they don't understand how to use it. Exploration
is the key to becoming a good programmer. Now he knows how to use it
from my post, and when not to use it from your post, so all is well. :)
