Elango,
Use kFSCatInfoGettableInfo instead of kFSCatInfoNone. If you only
want the filetype then kFSCatInfoFinderInfo should be sufficient,though.

Hi,
I want to check the file type for my filter operation. I have
implemented a code which will iterate a files folder in a specific
volume/partition. For filtering the files I just implemented
following.
FileInfo *fileInfo = NULL;
enumDir = FSGetCatalogInfoBulk(iterator, 255, &actualObjects,
&containerChanged, kFSCatInfoNone, NULL, newSrcFSRefs, NULL, NULL);
for (i = 0; i < actualObjects; i++)
{
memset(&catalogInfo, 0, sizeof(catalogInfo));
osErr = FSGetCatalogInfo (&newSrcFSRefs[i],
kFSCatInfoGettableInfo, &catalogInfo, &outName, NULL, NULL);
fileInfo = (FileInfo *) catalogInfo.finderInfo;
fileInfo->fileType; // It has to return ICNS or APPL
// based on the file type
}
But the fileinfo->filetype is not having anything.
Am I doing anything wrong... Can any body has the solution for this.

Elango C
