Cocoa control in carbon window

I'm looking to integrate carbon and cocoa objects in a window. Doing some research, I found that I could not add carbon controls to a cocoa window. Is it possible to do it the other way around, creating a carbon window nib and grabbing the cocoa equivalent with - (NSWindow *)initWithWindowRef:(void *)windowRef before passing cocoa controls based on NSView into that?
