While I have a Intel iMac on order, it's going to be a while, and I am trying to resolve likely issues in advance.

I have an app that writes its documents as file packages, and thus has to create the /Contents/PkgInfo file for the package.

This is an 8-byte file consisting of a Mac-style Type and Creator.

Can anyone provide an authoritative answer as to how this is stored on OS-X/intel?

Little-endian? (Host)
Big-endian? (PPC-style)
