Resolving aliases with a time-out

  • Subject: Resolving aliases with a time-out

I've implemented my version of:

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/LowLevelFileMgmt/Tasks/ResolvingAliases.html

to resolve Mac OS X aliases. However, if an alias is to something
that's via the network, it requires an internet connection to resolve.
If, for whatever reason, the user's internet connection is down, it
takes a VERY long time to time-out.

Is there any way to specify a shorter time-out when resolving aliases?

- Paul
