PDFView not displaying PDFDocument

Hey! I was wondering if anyone else had the problem of their PDFView appearing all gray(as apparently the matte view is) and not drawing the document contents. When I print out the address of the PDFView (ostensibly the nib file instantiates the PDFView on launch, as I instantiated the PDFView inside a window in IB) it says that it is 0, which doesn't sound right. Anyone have any ideas?
