invertrect, any cocoa versions suggested?

Since invertrect is going to be depreciated, what are my choices for doing what it does?
getcpixel and setcpixel are also depreciated and i would like to know the suggested cocoa replacements for those as well.
yes, i HAVE read the books and nothing was suggested when i searched for them... only "supported under carbonlib" and "depreciated" were the only 2 responses i got back.
