I want to write string "J'lève mon poing" in the file. I want to
store the value of "è" as 0x8F (143). Presently if I write in the
file it shows "J'l√(r)ve mon poing

When you say "in the file", what file are you talking about? Your source file, or a file that you want to write to disk? If it's the former, please check the links that Matt provided. If it's the latter, please provide much more detailed information on what you've tried so far.
