If the image has only one masked area, is it possible to get the path?

I don't know how to achieve this on Mac,
but on windows it is possible.
Please have a look at the attached image.

You can't, because the mask may not cover a well-defined region.
Note, for
example, that many icons contain semitransparent shadows.
