NSString** in scanners

  • Subject: NSString** in scanners
  • From: "D.K. Johnston" <email@hidden>

Why do scanner methods such as:

	scanCharactersFromSet:intoString:

require an NSString** as their second parameter, rather than simply an NSString*? I want to write a scanner for NSData objects, so I'm curious about what is happening under the hood.
