Extending the save dialog?

I want to extend the save dialog for my application to utilize some advanced features. Things like encryption, inclusion of themes, etc. Much like the save dialog of Keynote '06. Is there a way i can do this while utilizing the default save dialog? Or do I have to write my own with IB?
