Thanks. But you see, I'm doing an experiment of how I could set up my iTunes
stuff (preferences and all), be it music, playlist or preferences, and yeah,
I've looked at the XML file ever since I started this experiment. From the
XML I know which files are updated or which playlist has added new entry (by
watching at the file itself using UKKQueue), andd ddo stuff about the
changes.
What I can't do now is that even if I have the XML file recreated, I can't
still seem to restore fully my old iTunes setup if not for the binary
"iTunes Library" file. The only thing I could regenerate all stuff is for me
to import the XML file and let iTunes do the trick. I would want to have a
programmatic way on how to generate the "iTunes Library" file so I could do
a full restore.

Are you aware that there's an XML file that iTunes creates and
keeps up-to-date with most of the info from the iTunes library? If
you can it's safer to parse that one instead (just load it as a
plist), because it's actually meant to be readable by others.
