Problem with application menu

  • Subject: Problem with application menu
  • From: Jeremy Dronfield <email@hidden>

A user has reported a strange problem with the app menu in one of my applications. All the items in the app menu, he says, are grayed out (except the Services submenu). I suspect it may be a problem on his system rather than with the app. The Console log output shows this line:

2006-06-26 09:58:41.829 viJournal Lite[3535] could not find associated NSMenu for 278 (item:2)

The reason I'm thinking it may be a system problem is because he's also got this in the log output:

2006-06-26 09:59:00.138 Console[3154] could not find associated NSMenu for 265 (item:3)
2006-06-26 09:59:13.906 Console[3154] could not find associated NSMenu for 265 (item:7)
2006-06-26 09:59:19.821 Console[3154] could not find associated NSMenu for 265 (item:8)
2006-06-26 09:59:25.995 Console[3154] could not find associated NSMenu for 265 (item:11)

So it's apparently not only affecting my application (although he claims no other apps are affected). Something else I've never see before: the above printout is preceded by this line:

viJournal Lite[3535]: [WSX:SUIS[244]] error loading prefs - creating defaults one

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Regards,
Jeremy
