For the possible help of others, I used selectionIndex for the key path in the addObserver method associated the matrix's NSArrayController.

Is there an example of obtaining the currently selected button from a matrix of buttons in radio mode using bindings? I can't get my code to call observeValueForKeyPath.

One option is to bind to selectedTag.
