Does anyone know if if there's any way to persuade NSOpenPanel to give the option of a thumbnail/icon view, like the one that's available in finder? As far as I can tell it can only do the list and column views. Can't see anything in the docs, but am hoping there's something I've missed or a magic option hidden somewhere - although I suspect there isn't :(

Never heard of any such option; I have no reason to believe it exists. There's no precedent in previous OS versions, at least.
Not in OS X, but its worthy of an enhancement request, thats for sure. (I plan to file one myself, hope more people do also)
