Copying a view from one nib to another

Is there a way to copy a view from one nib to another in Interface Builder? I tried dragging... no luck. I also tried copy and paste, but when I hit "Paste" I just get a beep. I can copy and paste windows; so is this just a bug, or am I doing something wrong?
