Localized date placeholder not "sticking" at run time

  • Subject: Localized date placeholder not "sticking" at run time

Hi:

I'm having trouble with localized nib files not displaying the localized date place holder I put in them.

For example, in an Italian localized .nib file, the placeholder I put in an NSTextField (which has a date formatter), I put "GG/MM/AAAA" to help guide people

In IB, I see my placeholder.

When I run it with Italian as my preferred language, I see the English placeholder "MM/DD/YYYY".

Has anyone else ever seen this? One detail that may be relevant is that I created this .nib file from the English nib file using nibtool to load a translated .strings file that I had dumped from the English .nib file.

Any help greatly appreciated.

John
