If you're on OS X 10.4, then you might find Core Data would simplify
your life in this case.
However, I've no idea how much you actually know about Cocoa, is Core
Data dropping you in it too much?

Hi folks,
Does anybody have some pointers on how I can make this simple
application, e.g. what classes do I need to read about etc; this is
my first attempt.
The Problem:
I get lots of books out from the library. I first look up what
books I need from the libraries website which contains the books
name, author, publisher but also a very long and hard to remember
number indicating it's physical location.
My Idea:
I would like to make a simple app that transfers the book details
from the library's website to my iPod's Notes folder. I imagine I
could select the text and drag it on to the app or highlight and
control click and choose 'Transfer to iPod Notes'. Then when I
arrive at the library I can just look it up again with out fumbling
with paper and of course listening to some tunes!
I would eventually like to make it more complicated, for example it
could hold information on return dates and some how notify me etc.
Daniel.
