I think that people are reading the sentence wrong here:

I understand that in the first line you are declaring an instance of
the class (fileTypes) of the NSArray object.

I think Bobby know what people have pointed out; that fileTypes is not a class. Read it as this:


I understand that in the first line you are declaring an instance of
the class (that is called fileTypes) of the NSArray object.
