Good question. Maybe this is what Greg Herlihy was referring to. My guess is that +dictionaryWithContentsOfFile: acquired the ability to read binary plists at some point, and the docs are a little behind. In fact, I feel like this might have been mentioned on the list, but don't quote me on this because it could easily be power of suggestion and I'm too lazy to search the list archives.
