It's generally safe to assume that if you know the message is off-
topic, you should not post it to the list in question. This is not
specific to Cocoa development and there *is* a more appropriate
list (look on Apple's mailing list server) for this type of question.
I took a look at all the mailing list and I couldn't find anything
appropriate, sorry. Can you please suggest the right mailing list for
this kind of question? Thanks.
You will need to take your question to the appropriate list.

Hello everybody,
Firstly I want to say that I'm terribly sorry to post this to the
list but I just ran out of options and since the issue is highly
technical I don't think anyone can understand the issue without
having some programming experience. So what am I talking about?
Well... my system started to behave a bit slower than normal
randomly so I had to spend a day to be able to reproduce it
reliably. What I found out is that whenever there is a progress
bar visible on the screen the system behaves a bit slower in
particular the magnification of icons in the dock and minimizing
windows. It's not that bad but it's noticeable. So basically what
I did was to hover over all the icons in the dock from one side to
the other very quickly and get a feel for the smoothness of the
animation and then make a progress bar visible (eg. Safari
Downloads window or Software Update window) and again repeat the
hovering over the dock. There is a slight difference but it really
annoys me. The strange thing is that I could reproduce it every
time there was a progress bar displayed. I should also point out
that if I cover up the progress bar widget with another window the
sluggishness just goes away immediately. I have talked with Apple
Support, posted on forums and no one could help me so now I'm
really puzzled what to do since the Mac is brand new (several
days). I'm saying it again that I'm sorry posting this to the list
but I thought that since my problem has to do with GUI stuff
someone could offer some help/tips and/or confirm the behavior. If
it's only me having this problem then clearly there is something
wrong with the machine. I will be really grateful if anyone can
help me resolve the issue or at least see if the issue is
reproducible on other Macs. Thank you very much for reading this.
Kind regards,
Milen
