icns supports a hit mask separate from the actual alpha values. So, you could e.g. have a CD icon that displays the hole in its middle transparent, while clicking in the middle of the icon won't fall through the hole but rather counts as a hit.


Not that IconComposer lets you provide a hit mask, it calculates it from the alpha, but the file format does.
