Yes, there are a *ton* of MacBook Pro sales :)
But, if you look at the new Graphics > Video Adaptor Type chart,
you'll see the X1600 take off a little after 1/1/2006. Looking back
at the major OS chart, you'll see that 10.4 usage among Omni's
customers was already at > 90% by that date. So, while I think the
X1600 issue you mention is valid if you are looking at what GPU-
dependent features, it doesn't seem to be for OS major version.
Of course, your original point (don't assume our data will match
yours) is certainly still valid. If you were targeting education,
for example, you would want to contact some of your customers to find
out what OS revision they were using.
