Core Data & File Wrappers

  • Subject: Core Data & File Wrappers
  • From: Dan Messing <email@hidden>

Almost a year ago, mmalcolm wrote that using Core Data with file wrappers (aka file packages) isn't supported by NSPersistentDocument, but that it may be possible to implement the functionality by subclassing NSDocument directly:

http://lists.apple.com/archives/Cocoa-dev/2005/May/msg02412.html

Has this issue been decided on one way or the other? If it's not possible to use file wrappers, how are people handling storing large chunks of data when working with Core Data? (or am I wrong in thinking that having attributes that take up a few megs isn't something that should be done?)

Thanks for any advice,
Dan Messing
