This sounds like a fairly complicated interface. It seems almost like it shouldn't be a prefpane at all ...

I am working on trying to lay it out w/o a drawer and maybe a sheet will
work, but I dislike clicking "options" to open a sheet with controls and
having to click ok to see the results in the window behind the sheet.


The app is similar to a PhotoShop filter with lots of options so screen real
estate gets used quickly.
