Okay, I’ve read up on InstallationCheck and the strings and all
that and I’m
about at the same point I was before.
The suggestion to use “arch” is fine, but I’m not well acquainted
with
scripting of any sort. So, I can call this command, and it
returns a value.
And I would assume I would want to check that it is “i386” and
break if it
isn’t (via the InstallationCheck returning a determined value of
16-31, from
what I understand).
So, anyone got any suggestions? I’m still just a tad confused here.
Thanks again for all the suggestion!
Matt
Hi Matthew,
try sysctl(3) with HW_MACHINE.
Chris
I don't understand your suggestion. How does a C function help
write an InstallationCheck script that examines the output from /
usr/bin/arch?
You are right. I've misinterpreted Matthews post. English is not my
native language. Sorry for any confusion.
