So I guess I am intriqued a bit about what can be done outsidd of Interface Builder.

I am working on a application that uses the textured metalic window. I have a tab view--and what I want is to put down a grey color inside the tabbed workspace (not in the buttons) so that I have a metalic edge and a grey interior. You can see this kind of thing done within iTunes for example where Apple uses a metalic border and then grey (or different color) behind some of the controls.

How is this done?

Also to those who do Cocoa programming for a living.. do you find that when you do your commercial applicaitons you are always using controls and gimmicks to enhance the user experience than what is available in Interface Builder directly?

I look at Disco and I just don't know how that is done... and I am not talking about the smoke effect!
