As an update. I copied the nib file to my intel mini (the problem
is on the G5) and IB allows me to make connections as normal
there. I copied that copy of IB from the mini back to the G5, it
being a Universal app. Running it on the G5 and I cannot make the
connections -- problem persists.
I also cannot make connections in the IB outline display mode of
the main nib window. So both the object and the outline displays
don't work.
Something is hosed on the G5 and I would like to find out what :-)
Another update. I rebooted the G5 in case there was something
screwed up in the running system. Did not fix it. I un-installed
the developer tools using the included perl script that the dev
tools installs. I rebooted then re-installed 2.4.1 XCode. Still
no go. Still has the same problem. I cannot create connections in
IB on this system but the same nibs work fine on my intel mini.
One last bit of info.
I ditched the Interface Builder prefs plist in ~/Library/Preferences
and that had no effect. Still have the issue. However, if I log in
to the same machine as a different user, then the problem goes away.
The problem is with any nib, including new nibs I create as a test.
I cannot find any IB related stuff in my ~/Library of the affected
account except the preferences. The Caches dir for IB is empty.
Any other things to try would be appreciated.
Thanks
Chad
