I would suggest that anyone who inherits the project after you might
be a little overwhelmed if they have to deal with a mix of
AppleScript, Cocoa and QT.
Also, since QT seems to leverage Carbon under the hood, you may run
into difficult-to-debug issues when the two frameworks mix. QT may
not be expecting to see Cocoa windows and menus showing up.
