Do you want to have a theoretically "pure" application, or solve problems and ship products? If the latter, use the C-API.


Or...

Is there any reason you cannot include the anchor on the page, index the help book, and used the anchor based API? That insulates you from a particular file path in your help book should the documentation ever be re-organized.
