I am trying to run the Core Recipes sample app and am having
trouble opening the sample data provided with the app. The
instructions state that the data files ".crx" must be unzipped and
placed in the ~/Library/Application Support/CoreRecipes folder. But
the data files are not in .zip format and do not appear to be
compressed. The app, however, will not read these files.
Does anyone have suggestions?
Somebody may have answered you offline, but I don't like seeing
unanswered posts, so here's my answer. Go to:
http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/CoreRecipes/ and download the
zip file. Unzip it and open one of *.xcode project files (there are
several xcode projects in the zip package, representing different
stages of the example). If you have XCode 2.4 or higher, it will tell
you that the project file needs to be upgraded. Just say yes and
follow the recommended place to save the updated project file (that's
why I prefer the zip download over the dmg download because you can't
save the updated file to a disk image). Now just click Build & Go and
you're in business. Don't worry about the Application Support folder,
XCode will take care of that when it builds your project. Good luck.
