Editing strings in view

  • Subject: Editing strings in view

I have a view that draws light-weight objects, with text labels.
I wonder wether someone could please suggest an easy way to implement
editing of the embedded strings inline. What I want is essentially something
similar to editing Class Names, methods, and attributes in an UML editor,
without popping up a separate window.
One method I am considering, is popping up an 100% transparent small
window with a text field, and without a title bar, in front of the item I want to edit.
Any better ideas? If so, I would be grateful.
