$ /usr/bin/touch YourApp.app

Help at all?

Also, is this conversation really Cocoa-list-related?

Hi JanakiRam,
I build applications bundles from the terminal often, and I've found that I need to move the newly created bundle to a different folder within the Finder to get Finder to recognize it. I usually move it back to the original location after that. That usually gets the Finder to recognize the bundle icon. Ive never found any explicit documentation on why this would be, however, nor have I found documentation on a better way to do this.

Hi All,

I am creating a .app ( MyApp.app) manually from the terminal. This is the structure of my application bundle.

    MyApp.app
        |
        |
        |----- Contents
		        |
		        |------------------ Frameworks
		        |		               |
		        |		               |------ MyFramework.framework
		        |
		        |-------------------Info.plist
		        |
		        |
		        |-------------------PkgInfo
		        |
		        |------------------ MacOS
		        |		               |
		        |		               |------ MyApp
		        |
		        |------------------ Resources
		        |		               |
		        |		               |------ MyAppIcon.icns

And MyApplications Info.plist is as follows

<?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC -//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN http:// www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd>
<plist version=1.0>
<dict>
<key>CFBundleDevelopmentRegion</key>
<string>English</string>
<key>CFBundleExecutable</key>
<string>MyApp</string>
<key>CFBundleIconFile</key>
<string>MyAppIcon</string>
<key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
<string>com.xxx.myapp</string>
<key>CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion</key>
<string>6.0</string>
<key>CFBundleName</key>
<string>MyApp</string>
<key>CFBundlePackageType</key>
<string>APPL</string>
<key>CFBundleSignature</key>
<string>PAWS</string>
<key>CFBundleVersion</key>
<string>1.0</string>
</dict>
</plist>

Finally after executing instructions to create these directories and file from the terminal , finder shows my application icon as the default one. Am i missing any thing. Please help me to solve this problem.

Thanks in Advance.

Thanks,
JanakiRam.
