Processing Smart Folders

  • Subject: Processing Smart Folders

My application can process a folder (directory) in batch mode - i.e. it can select a folder in the open file dialog window and access all the files in a selected folder and then perform hideous operations on them. How would I go about accessing a smart folder and doing the same thing. In the open file dialog window, the open button is disabled when a smart folder is selected (and I am looking for a directory).

I realize that a smart folder is not a directory, but are there any capabilities in Cocoa to support smart folders?

TIA for any info on this,
Jim Merkel
