Most definitely master the basics before trying to understand Core Data. Core Data, in its easiest-to-use state, works hand-in-hand with Cocoa Bindings, a technology that is in turn is built upon Key-Value Observing and Key-Value Coding. These are all heady subjects for a newbie (by varying degrees) and as such are things you should learn *after* you master the basics.

I recommend picking up a good book. There're plenty of references in this list's archives, but I suggest Aaron Hillegass' book. It'll give you a good intro and overview.

Hi,

I am just starting to learn Objective- C and Cocoa and was wondering weather
somebody have any thoughts on weather I should start using Core Data
framework in my programming or learn it the "Classical way" first. I am on
quite a low level now but manage to create some basic applications with
tables and buttons.
