The simple fact is at this time overlapping views at the same level in
the view hierarchy will have drawing issues at runtime. Basically the
order of drawing of the overlapping views is not deterministic in
currently shipped versions of the Mac OS X.
You can do it... you can even get it to work adequately... but with
current versions of Mac OS X expect problems.
