Questions About Core Image Filters

  • Subject: Questions About Core Image Filters

I have a couple of questions about core image filters that do not seem to be addressed in the documentation, so I am looking for some guidance -- specifically about images shifting around in space after applying filters.

I am working with a page curl transition (so that I can add a page curl to an image in a view). After applying the page curl and examining the extent, the image has shifted from origin 0.0, 0.0 to -25.0, 333.0 and changed in size from 340x260 to 564x618.. I find that odd.

1. Is this normal behavior, or is this indicative of something else that might be wrong?

2. I can shift the image back to the origin and crop it -- which I've tried and although I specify a cropping rectangle of 0.0, 0.0. 340.0, 260.0, when I examine the image's extent it is 152.0, 0.0, 188.0, 260.0 -- which to me makes absolutely no sense.

If anyone could shed some light on what might be wrong I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks very much.
