You can test these input methods yourself even without speaking the
language. Set the input method to Hiragana, for example, and start
typing random strings ('lalala' will do) in a text field. Make sure
that you also check things like German umlauts that you can type with
an ordinary US keyboard layout (try alt+u followed by u).
