Hmm ... it seems you're absolutely right. At home, using my MacBook Pro, it works as you describe. At work, using my G5 (where I responded to your e-mail and "verified" my assertion), it does not. I actually suspect there's some sort of problem on that system because a click-and-a-half does *not* select any text in any app. I'm a bit mystified how this could work.


Nevertheless, my assertion was based on that test and was wrong. Apologies.
