There's a cocoa class called IconFamily, I think, which lets you create Finder icons from an NSImage. You can then use that icon and e.g. NDResourceFork to assign it as a custom icon to a folder. IconFamily may even have custom-icon-building integrated, I don't remember offhand.


but, if you have an automated way of doing this that does not include folder actions or automator, i'm all ears ! :)
