I'm having trouble seeing what you want between your message and subject,
but to change the color of selected text:
[textView setTextColor:color
range:[textView selectedRange]];

and to change the selection at loading time:
- (void)windowDidLoad
{
[textView setSelectedRange:NSMakeRange(start,length)];
}

Does that help?
