"Stop/Pause" of QTMoive?

Hi list.
I am confused about the QTMovie after I read the APIs.
There are two methods about "start"/"stop" in QTMovie. "Start" starts your movie, and "Stop" stops it. However, there is another API named "setRate", the document says if you set the rate to zero, the movie stops. So according to our common sense, a movie player should have the "pause" function. When you set the movie rate to 0.0, does it mean you "stop" it or only just "pause" it?
Or maybe they are same? Actually, the usual "stop" actions of players are releasing the memory occupied by the QTMovie, while the "pause" one is to pause it.
