To bad you have taken things that way (yeah some do spin their answers
that way at little to easily but this is a public forum with all types
of folks)... in general I would say the opposite happens... however
sometimes the best answer is the one that helps the person, that asked
the question, to discover how to find the information they need. This
often includes pointing folks at documentation and asking them to
review a section, etc. and come back if they still have questions.
Those can easily be taken the wrong way but many of us speak from
experience of how we got past the very same issues ourselves.
I think the hardest part about learning Cocoa is learning it isn't
that hard... essentially seeing past what many perceive as "magic"
when they first jump in.
Anyway the report feedback item on every document page has always
worked well for me when I find incorrect or weak documentation (glad
Apple added those a year back or so). Apple has been good about
responding as well (I have seen them changes things rather quickly
after using the report feature).
Finally I have the strong opinion that the documentation should not
clouding things by restating things that follow well established
patterns / contracts.
